What Micro SD card should I use?

Road Angel recommends a Class 10 or higher Micro SD card with a capacity between 16GB and 128GB. Higher‑endurance cards are preferred for continuous loop recording, and larger capacities reduce the frequency of overwritten footage. Check out our automotive grade SD cards here

Why do I need a speed awareness device?

The modern driver faces many challenges whilst out on the road. At Road Angel, we create products which enable users to be more safety-conscious and aware.

With so many hazards on the road, a Road Angel device can advise you of road speed limits, fixed safety cameras, mobile speed enforcement sites and other dangers to drivers.

Why do I need a dash cam?

A dash cam is an extra level of necessary protection for you, your family, any passengers and your vehicle. A dash cam does not just protect you from simple accidents in car parks and between average road users. ‘Crash for cash’ scams are run by fraudsters who manufacture collisions which cost the UK around £340m a year.

How many different speed cameras are there?

Truvelo and Gatso cameras are the most widely used speed cameras. There are also average speed cameras, known as SPECs, and variable speed cameras (known as HADECs).

Why do you charge subscriptions

Our latest speed camera detectors are OTA device's (Over the Air). This means that these devices have an internal sim card which enables it to update OTA, for you, the customer, this means as soon as we update the information we hold on Camera locations, your device gets this information in real time. Your PURE informs you of school zones, congestions zones and we provide the Road Speed Library, so on roads you are not familiar with, your PURE will know the speed of the road you are on. Using your PURE, you are also able to select the catagory of vehicle you are driving and the PURE will adjust your speed limit information accordingly. Combined with all of those smart features,. we also have a dedicated team of spotters who drive the length and breadth of the UK checking the information we have is correct and current.

I need to send my device in for repair. How long does the repair take?

We aim to have your device fully tested, repaired and dispatched back to you within 14 working days. Please contact our support team on 0330 320 3030 for more information on our returns and repair service.

How long is the warranty for a device valid for?

The standard warranty for a Road Angel device is 12 months. Extended warranty is available to purchase. Please contact our customer service team on 0330 320 3030 for more information.

Halo FAQs

Why is my Halo app not connecting to my Halo dash cam?

Please turn off your mobile data and Bluetooth, then reconnect to the camera via Wi-Fi.

How do I connect to the Halo via Wi-Fi?

Download our App from the Google Play store of Apple Appstore. Launch the app and press the ‘+’ icon in the top right corner, then follow the instruction that will be shown in the app. The default Wi-Fi password is set to ‘1234567890’.

Why can't I use live preview, playback footage or download videos?

Live preview and video downloads require a direct Wi‑Fi connection between your phone and the dashcam. If your phone is still connected to mobile data or another Wi‑Fi network, the app won’t be able to access the camera. Connect to the Halo’s Wi‑Fi network first, then reopen the app.

Why isn't my Halo Pro showing my speed?

Speed data only appears when the Halo Pro has a stable GPS connection. If no speed is displayed, the GPS may still be acquiring signal, or the vehicle may be in an area with weak coverage such as tunnels, underground car parks, or dense urban environments.

Which way should I orientate my Halo Pro's rear camera?

The rear camera should be mounted centrally on the rear window with the lens facing outward and the cable exiting from the top. This ensures the image is recorded the right way up and aligns correctly with the front camera’s field of view.

How do I format my SD card?

You can format your SD card directly through the Halo app or via the dashcam’s menu. Make sure the camera is powered on, then open the app and select the format option in the settings. Keep the device powered during formatting and never remove the card while the process is running.

I don't have a smartphone, can I still view recorded footage?

Our dash cams have a companion smartphone app to help in the view, playback and downloading of recorded footage. But if you do not have a smartphone or a compatible phone you can remove the SD card and insert it into a computer to view the files. Please be aware that for full functionality the Halo app has to be used.

Is the Road Angel Pure a Speed Camera Detector?

Yes! Our speed camera and radar detectors give live updates and information based on GPS location, with built-in laser gun protection to guarantee the identification of the speed limit on even the most remote road. What type of Speed Cameras does the Road Angel Pure Detect?

Road Angel alerts users to all fixed safety cameras, average speed monitoring cameras, variable speed limit cameras, fixed point safety cameras. Our devices also alert users on red light and dual speed cameras.

The database also includes locations of mobile speed enforcements, accident blackspots, congestion zones, primary school locations and ungated railway crossings.

Does the Road Angel Pure detect mobile speed camera Vans?

Yes. The Pure has a built in laser detector. In addition to this it also has known Mobile Safety Enforcement locations in the alerts database.

Does the Road Angel Pure have a built in battery?

Yes. After a full charge the built in battery will last 3 – 6 hours during normal use. The Pure can last 10+ days on standby.

Will the Road Angel Pure series know the actual road speed?

Yes. The Pure series has a Road Speed Library (RSL) database so will display the actual road speed limits.

Does the Road Angel Pure series support smart motorways?

Yes. The Road Angel Pure series has Smart Motorway functionality. With a valid subscription, the Pure series keeps you informed on all controlled motorway's around the UK. When the variable speed limit changes on the Smart Motorway you are traveling on, the Pure series will alert you to the change of speed limit in real-time! This is all thanks to the direct connection to The Highways Agency that Road Angel utilises.

Is the Road Angel Pure speed awareness device legal?

The Pure is legal in the UK. However, if you are considering taking it abroad, please be aware that devices with laser detection built in are illegal in a number of EU countries. We advise checking before taking your Pure out of the UK.

How easy is it to fit the Road Angel Pure?

With our wireless windscreen mount, it has never been easier to fit a Road Angel Pure into your car. If you choose to have your device hardwired, we recommend always seeking professional advice from an auto electrician.

Why does my computer not recognise my Road Angel Pure?

Make sure your Pure is connected to your PC or Mac using the lead provided in the box and download the Updater Software from our Support Center. Once the Pure has connected to your computer a message should display on screen – Connected to PC. Please contact our support team on 0330 320 3030 for more information and support.

Does the Road Angel Pure have to be hardwired in?

It may do, as long as you have positioned it in the correct place. Please note that the Road Angel Pure does not work in vehicles with solar reflective windscreens. However, if you experience problems with GPS reception, please contact our support team on 0330 320 3030 for more information and support.

Delivery & Returns FAQs

Do I have to be there to sign for delivery?

We require you to be at home or make arrangements to receive your delivery. If no one is at home, the courier will leave a card with their contact details to arrange a second delivery.

How long does delivery take?

As standard, please wait 3-7 working days to receive your delivery. However, please note that this is subject to stock availability. When the stock is low, delivery can take up to a maximum of 14 working days.

How much does delivery cost?

Standard UK delivery is free for orders above £50.00 . Next day UK delivery is also available for £9.99.

I want to return my product. How do I do this?

If you would like to return your product please contact us. Please ensure that you send your returns package with a method of adequate insurance as Road Angel cannot take responsibility for lost packages.

Who is Klarna?

Klarna is a Swedish payment service provider that takes end-to-end responsibility for your payment. Klarna is the provider of smooth payments to more than 190,000 online stores. Over 80 million consumers worldwide have trusted Klarna to securely handle their payments.

How does Pay later in 30 days work?

Once your order is confirmed, you'll receive an email with payment instructions within two days from Klarna. You'll then have 30 days to try on your order and only pay when you’re happy. Complete the payment online, at your convenience, with no extra cost. You can pay via credit or debit card at www.klarna.com/uk

Am I eligible for Pay later in 30 days?

To use Pay later in 30 days you must be at least 18. Whilst this option is widely promoted, Pay later in 30 days is subject to your financial circumstances. When choosing Pay later in 30 days, our assessment will not affect your credit rating.

How can I increase my chances of being accepted for Pay later in 30 days?

Klarna is unique and offers Pay later in 30 days based on a number of factors such as the order value, previous order history and item availability. If you are 18 or over, you can improve your chances of being offered Pay later in 30 days by ensuring you provide your full name and accurate address details and shipping to your registered billing address. All orders are assessed individually. Just because you have had Pay later in 30 days before does not mean it will be offered for every order and in turn, as it is denied does not mean it will be denied for all future orders.

Will a credit search take place against me?

Klarna may run so-called unrecorded enquiries (or soft credit searches) that do not affect credit scoring and are only visible to you and Klarna, but not visible to other lenders. Neither Klarna nor Road Angel run credit searches against you that could impact your credit rating.

Why have I not been offered Pay later in 30 days?

Although Pay later in 30 days is widely promoted it is not always universally available. The Pay later in 30 days method is automatically generated by algorithms that are dependent upon a number of factors including amount of order, the online store, previous order history and item availability. Alternatively, you are able to complete your order by paying by credit or debit card at the checkout.

What are my payment options with Klarna?

You can pay with debit or credit card immediately in the checkout or take advantage of our Pay later in 30 days payment option, where you can pay for the goods once you have received them via credit card or debit card.

What happens if I cancel or return my order?

As soon as Road Angel have accepted your cancellation/return, then Klarna will cancel the statement or refund your payment.

What happens if I don’t pay for my order?

Payment is due 30 days after the item is shipped. To help you pay on time, we'll alert you two days before payment is due – you'll receive email reminders to pay – and, if very late, we’ll also send you a text or letter, too. Your credit score will not be impacted by using Klarna’s ‘Pay later in 30 days’ products even if you have failed to pay on time.
